Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh – A tragic incident unfolded in Lucknow, where a delivery agent was allegedly murdered by a customer after delivering two smartphones valued at approximately ₹1 lakh. The victim, Bharat Prajapati, aged 30, was killed on September 23 in the Chinhat area of the city.
According to police reports, the accused, Gajanan, and his accomplice, Akash, lured Prajapati to a residential location for a cash-on-delivery transaction involving Google Pixel and Vivo smartphones. After the delivery, the duo reportedly strangled Prajapati, concealed his body in a sack, and disposed of it in the Indira Canal.
Prajapati's family reported him missing on September 25 when he failed to return home. Following the report, police launched an investigation and traced Gajanan's phone number through Prajapati's call records. During questioning, Akash confessed to the crime, revealing their plan to rob Prajapati of the smartphones.
Authorities are currently conducting a search for Prajapati's body with the assistance of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). While Kanaujia and Akash have been arrested, Gajanan remains at large, and a manhunt is underway to apprehend him.
The investigation is ongoing, with police emphasizing the need for heightened security measures for delivery agents in light of this incident.
